My Approach to Helping
Life is a journey. Along the way, the path gets muddy. There are rough waters and roads missing from the map. From stress, anxiety, sadness, and discontentment, to major life changes, career transitions, and problems in relationships with family and friends, life takes us in overwhelming and unpredictable directions. You might be searching for purpose or meaning, trying to improve your emotional wellness, or navigating difficult relationships. We don't have to walk through life's challenges alone. I offer an empowering humanistic approach that can help you find strength during times of adjustment, transition, or struggle.
Imagine what your ideal future looks like. Now suppose you had the power to make a miracle happen - a miracle that turns problems into power. Let's find that miracle together. Down those missing roads and through those rough waters, there are blue skies, mountaintops, and moments that take our breath away! Those moments are often closer than they seem.
Please reach out with any questions you have or to schedule a session. Sessions are available for adults, adolescents, couples, and families of all shapes and sizes. Comprehensive ADHD evaluations are also offered beginning at 7 years of age. I look forward to meeting you soon. Wherever you are in your journey, take the next step and find your strength!
More Info About My Practice
Solution-focused. | It can be easy to stay stuck on the problem. We'll find solutions that come from an authentic place within you - one that knows about the times the problem doesn't happen, the times you think about the future, and the times when you've pushed through before.
Strength-based. | Counseling isn't about teaching us to be someone we're not. The strengths-based perspective emphasizes that even in times of great struggle, we all have strengths and resources that help us stay the course. We will find and build on those strengths together.
Person-centered. | Life is a process of exploration and self-discovery. We'll focus on the experiences and concerns that are important to you, uncovering the activities, people, and places you know and love as important building blocks for a healthy and fulfilling future.
Healing is messy and we could all use a little bit more empathy. Come as you are.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
When considering therapy for the first time, many people are concerned about the recommended duration and frequency of therapy. While I typically recommend starting with weekly to biweekly (every other week) sessions, the frequency and duration of therapy are based on personal choice and what you find helpful. I support individuals seeking frequent brief therapy, less frequent andor long-term therapy, and in between. If you have specific preferences on how a helpful therapeutic journey might look for you, reach out today so we can begin designing that journey together!
