My Approach to Helping

(Currently offering in person as well as virtual sessions)
If you are feeling anxious, depressed, or emotionally volatile, you are not alone - according to the National Institute of Mental Health, one in five people in the United States live with a mental health issue. Whether you need room to express yourself, help separating, prioritizing, and reflecting on the issues you’re facing, or outside accountability (or maybe a little bit of all of those), I am here for you. My clients find me easy to talk to, straightforward, and a great teammate in helping them set and realize their goals.

I provide a space where you can slow down and explore what’s going on in your life in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. My clients have grown in their ability to express and take care of themselves, exert more control over their actions, and have better relationships with family and friends.

My goal is for you to have a therapy experience which is valuable to you. I adapt well to the needs and personalities of my clients so that you are able to benefit from our time together as much as possible. Whatever works for you - your skills, your preferences, your learning style - is what we’ll do. I will help you identify and lean into your strengths.

More Info About My Practice

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC), with over 8 years’ experience providing individual, group, and family therapy. My background includes working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, families and youth in the foster care system, and general outpatient therapy. Visit my website for more information.

My Therapy Focus

The reason I am a therapist is because I have seen how effective this process is for helping people change. My own experience as a therapy client was powerful for me and helped restore my quality of life. As both a client and a therapist, I've learned skills like managing anger, understanding one's own reactions, and choosing helpful coping skills to ease anxiety. You have the power to understand your own internal landscape and make the choices necessary to change. Growing in confidence, coming to a better understanding of yourself and your needs, setting goals, and taking the necessary action to better your life are all essential parts of the work of therapy. I am here to support your growth, whatever that looks like.
