I am originally from Minnesota and moved to Colorado to be near to mountains and pursue graduate school. I have a heart for working with those who are struggling from the effects of trauma and grief/loss, as well as, difficulties with mood, anxiety and impulsive behaviors. I believe it is a risk to reach out for support. I also believe, we are worth more than our pain, circumstance or undesirable behaviors and it is freedom that we seek. I would be honored to talk with you more as you take this step on your journey.

More Info About My Practice

Through life, we all incur emotional wounds, that cause us pain. When the pain is too great, we can act out in self-destructive ways. We can also develop distorted beliefs of ourselves. This can poison our true identity. Much like a weed in a garden, distorted beliefs can infect how we behave and treat ourselves/others. Survivalist, impulsive ways to cope with pain, actually deliver more of what we don't want: broken relationships, chaos, addiction, hopelessness, fear and low worth/esteem.

Better understanding our wounds allows us to more clearly identify infected beliefs and challenge them. This creates the opportunity to nurture messages which bring life, freeing us to operate confidently in true worth and value. This sets us on a road of healing and freedom.

We need to be able to safely process, understand our wounds and develop adaptive ways to cope with the pain. Ways that can actually help the wounds heal. If I am not the right therapist for you, I will be glad to help you in finding the support you need.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

For nearly 20 years, I have worked with people, of all ages, in various therapeutic settings. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults struggling with: trauma and abuse history, addiction, acute to severe depression and anxiety, impulse struggles, attachment issues, stress, relationship difficulties, worth/esteem and identity. I honor those whom take this risk and seek to be a guide along your journey. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also offer Christian Counseling upon request.

I understand the vulnerabilities of reaching out for help therefore, I offer: a free 15-30 minute initial consult, a sliding scale fee, occasionally pro bono work, video therapy and online therapy.
