My Approach to Helping
When relationships are working, they can bring deep connection, excitement, fun, and companionship and when they are not working can often lead to a lack of trust, frequent arguments, distance, and emotional pain.
Relationships are key to the individual human experience. I believe that it is no coincidence that when we find ourselves struggling in relationships, it has a profound effect on our individual emotional well being, just as experiencing a challenging life event can lead to difficulties in our close relationships.
As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have received extensive training in evidenced based treatments that are focused on improving the quality of the human experience, both as an individual and within a relationship. I have worked with individuals, families, and couples of diverse backgrounds with a range of emotional and relationship issues and as there is never a 'one size fits all' approach to therapy, I value and will consider your unique qualities and life influences. It is my practice to collaboratively work with you to achieve a life experience with increased intimacy, trust, clarity of communication, and overall satisfaction.
My practice specializes in therapy for individuals, couples, and families who are seeking to strengthen their current relationships following recent conflict, a difficult life event, individual or family trauma, or any other disruptive experiences.

My Role as a Therapist
I view my role as a therapist as somebody who can collaborate with you to facilitate a more positive and rich experience and understanding within the therapy room. It is my view that if you are able to experience an increased understanding of the your current situation that you can then begin to make change where desired. Sometimes this change occurs in the form of an unspoken conversation with a partner or family member or your ability to see a person or situation in a different way. It is this change of perception that frequently leads to a difference in behavior and overall experience.
