My Approach to Helping
I believe therapy helps us understand the power of the mind. This is especially useful when we feel disconnected, marginalized, or stigmatized. When we feel this way, learning how the mind channels this information through thoughts, feelings, emotions, and perceptions, can influence us to recognize our own cognitive processes and how they impact our life. If we attend to our cognitive processes in a healthy way, it may lead to regulation of mood, clarity, balance and feelings of peace. We start to evolve and accept certain things about ourselves. We begin to feel at peace from within. This makes being human more harmonious.
I find a great importance in helping clients build their inner resources, learn how to reorganize old patterns, and enhance their ability to effectively cope through challenging situations. It is also important to support self-actualization, positive affirming constructs and identity authenticity. I offer a safe, open, and non-judgmental environment for clients to adopt positive affirming constructs. Specifically, I encourage all sexual expression, identity exploration and character development. I believe these are some of the beneficial ways to develop change.
I do not believe in a one-size fits all modality. I consider myself a "non-traditional" psychotherapists and understand we live in a modern world. No story, subject, or experience is off limits. I do not view anything as "taboo."
I specialize in Sexual HealthDysfunction, LGBTQI, PTSD, Gender Identity, and Relationship Issues. I also cater to clients with anxiety, depression, spirituality, family transitioning, and men's issues. I acknowledge and care for cultural, sexual, gender, and political diversity.
I incorporate a variety of psychotherapy methods. I further my psychotherapy methods by educating and highlighting the epigenetic & neurochemistry process in the brain. I believe that learning the epigenetic & neurochemistry process will allow clients to gain the mind and body connection, resulting in greater psychological advancement. Furthermore, I utilize meditation, deep-breathing exercises, holistic interventions, and sound frequency therapy to stimulate the healing process.
