My Approach to Helping
Amy Tierney is a psychoanalytically trained Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Sexual Assault Victim Counselor. She specializes in the treatment of anxiety, depression, addiction, codependency, relationship difficulties, traumaPTSD, life transitions, and eating disorders.
While Amy’s approach to treatment is grounded in psychoanalytic theory, she draws from a wide variety of treatment modalities based on individual client needs. Some of these modalities include Interpersonal Neurobiology, Inner child work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, mindfulness based interventions, and Internal Family Systems.
Amy believes the therapeutic relationship is the single most important aspect in a client’s therapeutic process. She has a profound respect for, and commitment to, the development of a safe, nonjudgemental space where her clients find the freedom to heal.
