My Approach to Helping
Effective therapy isn’t about being told what to do. It’s about being supported, impacted, and truly listened to by a trusting professional. In my practice, I value genuinely connecting with my clients to learn their stories and collaborate on the steps needed for sustainable change.
Most of life’s stressors don’t come with a quick fix, but therapy can help you strengthen your insight, learn new coping skills, and foster a greater sense of resilience. I understand that entering therapy can feel intimidating and scary. My goal is to provide you with a safe environment that encourages you to be your truest self. Through this connection, we can take the first steps toward transformative change.
More Info About My Practice
I am a seasoned social worker, and in addition to my 10+ years of direct clinical experience, I’ve held roles in research, coordination, and management. My practice has deep roots in social justice and mental health advocacy. Systemic barriers often prevent people from accessing the support they need. I prioritize giving my clients both the internal and external resources they need for support. I believe that competent care always requires a thorough understanding of your individual feelings within the context of your family, community, and our society at large.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
I specialize in working with teenagers (and their parents) and young adults. Many of my clients experience symptoms of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, poor impulse control, and trauma. My younger clients, in particular, often come to me with complex issues like bullying, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts.
I value being a provider who can dive into 'high-risk' issues. Whether you or your child is struggling, therapy can provide a welcome refuge for relief. I welcome tough conversations and pride myself on supporting those who might feel they have nobody in their corner.
