My Approach to Helping

I strive to provide a safe and warm therapeutic environment in which people can feel free to express their thoughts and feelings. Growing up, we may have felt misunderstood and judged, or as though we were in relationships that did not feel "real." Sometimes darker emotions and feelings arise; I want people to know that these can be expressed in a relationship without judgement. I believe that our emotions provide important information, and it is most helpful if we can learn to identify and express these feelings. I integrate a variety of techniques and approaches to tailor the treatment to the individual.

My areas of speciality are couples counselling and family therapy. I feel especially passionate about these areas, and these are my areas of expertise based on personal and professional experience. I have also had extensive additional training in working with adolescents, parents, and grief counselling.
