My Approach to Helping

My priority is creating a safe and comfortable space where you can come as you are and experience acceptance, support, and care so that we can work together to identify and remove barriers that may be keeping you from living your most fulfilling life. Therapy isn’t one size fits all because no two people are the same, and that is a wonderful thing! Each person is unique and will bring something special to the therapeutic relationship. You can expect me to show up as my authentic self and I hope you’ll do the same so that we can become great partners in this work of helping you to live as your best self. You are welcome here!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Are you seeking an ally as you work to reach your professional, relationship, and life goals? It genuinely makes me happy when I get to see others move toward their goals and begin to live their best lives! I am here to stand in your corner and support you from idea to completion.

Are you looking for a neutral perspective; someone who can guide and support you without bias? We can all benefit from therapy because we are not meant to face life?s challenges alone. We are social beings and although our friends, partners, and families can be great resources when we need support, sometimes it can be helpful to talk with someone a bit more objective.

Are you seeking sex therapy but feeling ashamed, alone, or embarrassed? I spent two years of my master?s internship training under two clinical sex therapists, one of whom is a leading researcher on religious sexual shame and founder of the leading training institute for clinical therapists in the northwest. You are never alone, I am here. And I understand what you are going through.

Are you feeling content and stable in life but hoping to balance and maintain your mental health? Many people come to therapy when faced with a challenge, but it can be a great preventative tool too. It can be powerful to gain insight into yourself and how you operate in the world. It empowers you to make choices that are in line with your values and how you want to live your life!

Are you wanting to share your story with someone who understands what you are going through to find guidance and support? I love hearing people?s stories because it allows me the chance to get to know them more deeply and begin to understand their experience of the world. I like feeling connected to other people and the world around me and not only lending an ear but helping you navigate the many highs and lows that occur in life.

My Role as a Therapist

I am a guide through the various chapters and changes in life. I have gained several years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families to address anxiety, depression, grief and loss, sex and relationship challenges, trauma, hoarding disorder, stress and worklife balance, and preparing for end of life and or major health changes. I received my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Seattle Pacific University and I am a registered marriage and family therapy intern in the state of Florida, being supervised by Emy Tafelski. I am currently working toward completing additional training to become a certified clinical sex therapist in the state of Florida. I am a member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (AAMFT) and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I have a particular passion for working with women to strengthen their self-image and navigate multiple roles in the midst of facing changes and challenges.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Your mind, body, spirit, and life experiences are all important pieces of who you are and how you live your life. I will take all of these, and the ways they impact each other, into consideration during our work together so that I can best support your total well-being. You are the resident expert on your life and relationships, and I am passionate about supporting you in the process of exploring yourself to feel empowered to make choices that help you live your best and most authentic life.
