My Approach to Helping
Don't let emotional pain go untreated! Tired of feeling that despite your successes, you continue to feel unfulfilled. Maybe it's a feeling of disconnection or not being appreciated by others. This might lead to feelings of worry, stress, overwhelm and even anxiety, panic or depression. This doesn't feel good and it gets in the way of really enjoying your life. It's time to move past those feelings and reach out for help.
I work with people who want to stop the emotional pain and navigate the pathway to well-being and thriving - in all areas of life! Together, we embrace these challenges as an opportunity to uncover the underlying difficulties to help you create a life that feels fulfilling.
You don't have to struggle through this alone. Call me to set up an appointment. In our first few sessions together, we'll explore what is and isn't working in your life. We'll develop a plan together for making the changes you desire.
More Info About My Practice
Headway Therapy is a practice designed around helping our clients to do more than just problem solve or heal, but to actually thrive and learn how to be their best selves. So the focus is on well-being, flourishing and unlocking inherent potential. We're focused on helping clients make headway (yup...I said it!) in their lives.
We work with a variety of presenting issues. Primarily though, we work with adults going through life stage changes, be it going off to school, getting married, having children for the first time - or the last time! having children leave home, getting divorced, dealing with loss, or the myriad other steps in the journey of our lives. Each stage typically brings uncertainty and stress, but we work with our clients to re-orient their thinking to recognize these as opportunities to realign with who they are, and what they would like to accomplish in their lives, creating new definitions of success.
My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is about creating a space that feels non-judgmental, where clients come to feel heard and listened to in a way that they have never experienced before. They will leave feeling they have collaborated on a problem and that there is a sense of direction. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, and our work together improves our client's understanding of what has shaped the challenges they are facing. We dig really deep to understand this, and sometimes it may be uncomfortable, but our mission is to provide a supportive and collaborative relationship.
