Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Unfortunately, not everyone "clicks" which can lead to an overall negative therapy experience. There are many therapist's out there who share the same passion of helping others, so find someone you do "click" with and give it another chance. My goal is to provide a safe, comfortable environment where you are free to share whatever you feel is relevant. Sit back, have a cup of coffee and relax. There is no contract, you are in charge of your therapy. You decide what is working and what is not. If you feel like we don't connect, I am happy to help you find someone who you would feel more connected with, no hard feelings or judgements, my job is to help you be the best you. If we do connect, that is wonderful and I look forward to working with you!
What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process
Feeling concerned is an honest, completely okay and relevant feeling. There are many reasons a person might be concerned about therapy. For instance, therapy might make a person feel vulnerable and scared to address their challenges. I say give it a chance, the worst that could happen is nothing, the best that can happen is you start overcoming your challenge and work toward becoming the person you want to be. My goal as a therapist. is to understand the reasons for your concerns and work with you to build trust and respect throughout the therapy process. If you don't feel comfortable or connected there is no pressure to continue, you are in charge of your therapy.
