My Approach to Helping
I believe that therapy is a personal journey and experience so I adapt my approach based on my client’s needs. Personally, I take a person centered approach to building trust as we begin the therapy process. As our work continues, I take a cognitive behavioral approach to helping your best life. I use this approach because I believe it helps you become more aware of limiting beliefs and thoughts which allows us to develop a plan for challenging those beliefs when they come up again.
More Info About My Practice
I received my master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2013. My bachelor’s degree is in Speech and Hearing Sciences with a minor in psychology from the University Of North Texas.
While completing my graduate coursework, I interned at Texas Workforce Commission helping students plan for life after high school. I also worked in a brain injury program helping clients and families transition from the hospital back into their everyday lives.
I see therapy as a journey and my role as a counselor is to help walk alongside you as you work through some of the biggest challenges in your life. As your counselor, I want to help you think of these challenges in a different way and help you see your life in a new way. My goal as we work together is for you to see things in a more positive way so that you can begin creating the life you’ve always wanted.
When I’m not working with clients, I love spending time with my family and friends. I enjoy going to the movies, footballbaseball games and concerts. I also love doing HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts and I am an avid reader.
