I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, a National Certified Counselor and I hold a Senior Professional in Human Resources certification. I have experience working in treatment centers with individuals struggling with addiction and having a secondary diagnosis. Additionally, I have extensive experience working with employees transitioning careers, struggling with work-life balance, and learning how to minimize workplace stress. Experiencing the loss of my most beloved beagle, I understand the unique needs of pet parents. I provide counseling services to help pet parents navigate the stressful periods when caring for an aging and ailing pet in addition to pet loss and bereavement counseling services.
My personal mission is to help others reach their full potential. I have dedicated my life to working to bring about a change to remove the stigma associated with mental illness. To fulfill this commitment, in addition to working with my clients, I am also a member of the City of Boynton Beach Mental Health Committee, and a member of Palm Beach County Mental Health Coalition, and one of our goals is to educate people about the myths and facts on mental illness by teaching Mental Health First Aid.
We all have a story to tell and for some of us no one to tell it too. My hope is that you reach out for help. Asking for help can be scary, in some cultures going to an "outsider" for help is frowned upon; however, the first step in getting healthy is asking for help.
For me, each client is unique and I focus the style of therapy to meet the needs of my client. In providing compassionate care to my clients I use a combination of therapy styles such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and I also incorporate the use of Sand Tray Therapy in my practice.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is to listen to you without judgment, and to help you find your inner strength to reach your full potential.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

It's not only the academic background of your therapist that is important, you should also consider if you and your therapist are a "good fit." Maybe you have been to therapy before and you did not click with your therapist, that's not unusual. Try another therapist, look for someone you feel comfortable talking too, consider someone who understands your cultural values and how your culture impacts your decisions, feelings, and even your hesitation to seek help. It is okay for you to "interview" your therapist before you "hire" the person.
