My Approach to Helping
I provide mental health services to children, teenagers, and their families. My experience working in the education system has given me the opportunity to learn about the many subtle, adverse issues that may affect young people on a daily basis.
Distressed youths often have difficulty verbalizing their thoughts or emotions. However, play therapy is a highly effective evidence-based modality that helps children to explore their inner world and express their feelings clearly. In play therapy, toys may be used to give voice to a child’s deepest concerns. In addition to assisting young people, I am passionate about helping marriage mates and family members resolve their issues and strengthen their bonds.
When caring for teenagers and children, I may utilize techniques from play therapy or sand tray therapy. I am also a certified provider of mindfulness-cognitive therapy and I am currently receiving training to become a registered play therapist.
I firmly believe each person is different and has unique needs. My therapeutic approach integrates skills from many different modalities and is adapted to bring the most benefit to each individual.
