My Approach to Helping
It is my personal philosophy that psychotherapy can be healing for a variety of issues, from severe mental illness to getting to know yourself better. Regardless of how serious we believe our problems are, our inability to deal with them and staying silent leaves us feeling empty and alone. In therapy, we can explore all parts of ourselves, the good, the bad, and the ugly. We can also have a better understanding of our relational dynamics, which often leads to healthier relationships with ourselves and others. Based upon my years of experience with a diverse array of clientele, I have come to firmly believe in the human mind’s potential for healing, growth, and wholeness. With warmth and unconditional empathy, it is my passion to help you move towards a more fulfilling life.

I also offer adult attention deficit hyperactivity (ADHD) assessments.
Unfortunately, all too often our society sends the message that those with attention deficit hyperactivity are "lazy underachievers" who are "faking it" and simply need to "work harder.” This societal message couldn't be further from the truth! ADHD is a neurological condition that alters your ability to maintain focus, stay organized, and shut out all the "extra noise" in your environment.
If you think you may have attention deficit hyperactivity, you can receive psychological testing to clarify your diagnosis and receive the treatment and help you deserve.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
I see myself as someone joining you on a journey where you can discover who you are and the "why?" behind your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We will also explore unconscious blocks that get in the way of living a fuller life. These understandings are what serves as the first big step toward healing and building resilience. I also believe that a large part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. We will explore the patterns that show up in the therapy room and how they represent patterns in other relationships. I do this by being honest, empathetic and curious.
The road to discovering your true self is unpaved, and I am honored to be able to help clear any roadblocks. By understanding the depths of our psyche, I believe we can heal wounds that hold us back. While working together, we can find parts of you that have been ignored because of all the noise and distractions of the world or even consequent to our internal doubts and insecurities. By listening to ourselves deeply and creating experiences that align with our innermost being, we can navigate our lives with confidence and peace.
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
It is very important to feel connected and comfortable with your therapist. I believe that people can sense this quality in the first session. The therapeutic relationship is a part of treatment- it can help to feel less lonely and foster intimacy in healthy relationships.
