My Approach to Helping
I use a mindful approach to help individuals and couples live their best life. I can help you figure out what's most important to you and how to make and follow through on goals that will help get you what you want. I'm a compassionate person with a dedication to helping people and I have specific strategies to show you how to get the most out of the life you have (even if it's really difficult right now). I can help you if you are new to therapy or if you have been feeling stuck where you are. I am very active and direct and will actually engage you in a dialogue during every session (unless you need space, which I am also happy to give you and just be there with you). I can help you feel supported, understood, and more in control.
More Info About My Practice
The Center for Cognitive-Behavioral Psychotherapy has been around for over 20 years and has supported many individuals in treating different concerns. We work as a team to make sure you get the best care possible. The office is located at the corner of 36th St and Lexington Ave, with the entrance on 36th. We are in Suite 4 on the ground floor. Due to the pandemic, I am currently only offering video and phone sessions.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
I know it might seem like a waste to keep trying different therapists when you've had a negative experience in the past. It takes a lot of time, energy, and of course, money. However, if you find someone you really connect with, it can be a life-changing experience. To have someone who you know is there for you, listens to and understands your problems, and gives you practical ways to make changes in your life that actually make a difference... I won't say it's priceless, but it can definitely be worth the cost.
In my experience, your therapy time becomes a time you look forward to. It's a time dedicated just for you, where you are given undivided attention. It is a partnership, in which you always have someone on your side (even when we disagree). It is a healthy relationship that can help you form other healthy relationships all around you. It can take 3 months, 3 years, or until you decide to stop. Therapy is a life path that you can come back to any time, even if it is with a different person.
You can ask or tell me anything and I will not judge you. I am a real person. I get anxious, angry, sad, I feel guilty, embarrassed, and happy. I can help you learn to tolerate these emotions, even though they can be uncomfortable. And if for any reason you feel like maybe I'm not a good fit after all, you can tell me! I'll be there to help you find someone who is a better fit for you.
