Welcome to Peony Counseling! Are you stuck or struggling? Are you needing more support to get through a difficult time or transition? Finding a "good fit" with a therapist is so important to the healing process. I am passionate about creating a therapy relationship to help you feel safe and heard and thus able to move past your "stuck" places. My style is using a non-judgemental, strengths-based approach with humor thrown in! Of course I am a huge believer in therapy as I see it works; I also believe everyone can benefit from therapy at some point in their life.

More Info About My Practice

I chose the lush peony flower to symbolize "richness" in life--with self, purpose and relationships. Thus my motto is "Grow a Fuller, Richer Life! I have almost 20 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker--working with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life-transitions, grief, trauma, work stress, anger, parenting issues, health issues, and aging issues. Believe you can feel better, more connected and more aligned with your values. Therapy can help!

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

Overall, I use an eclectic approach to working with you. Pacing is different for different clients. Some clients love homework--others hate homework. Do you want skills and techniques or a more in-depth understanding of your behavior/wants/needs? I do have specialized training in Emotional Focused Couples Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). EMDR is helpful with past and present trauma and anxiety issues. Additionally, I integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques in my practice.

I enjoy working with adults as individuals or couples and teens 15 and up.
