My Approach to Helping
Alexis is a licensed professional counselor who is passionate about working collaboratively with clients during challenging times in their lives and believes in healing for all. She provides a comfortable, non-judgmental space for clients to explore and understand themselves and move towards self-discovery, self-acceptance, and healing. She is a warm and empathic person with genuine care and concern for the clients she works with. She approaches counseling using a holistic and eclectic approach, pulling from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in order to meet the unique needs of each individual and understand each person as a whole. Alexis strives to provide a safe space to foster a productive therapeutic relationship, allowing individuals to create enduring and lasting change within their lives.
Alexis has experience treating eating disorders, anxiety, depression, self-esteem difficulties, body image concerns, and supporting individuals to manage life transitions. Alexis most recently worked treating adult women with eating disorders at the residential level of care and has also worked in a university setting treating students with various mental health concerns.
Alexis is also committed to professional excellence and furthering her training as a clinician. She regularly participates in trainings, workshops, and other learning opportunities to advance her clinical skills.
