My Approach to Helping

Stress is unavoidable and sometimes despite our best efforts nothing seems to get better. That is because negative moods, thoughts and behaviors are powerful and can be overwhelming to the point of interfering with daily functioning. Does constant worrying reduce your ability to concentrate or deal with everyday issues calmly? Is stress keeping you from enjoying your life and the people in it? Maybe you are struggling with making positive changes in your life? I specialize in anxiety and stress management, as well as working with people to make lifestyle changes that globally improve health and quality of life.

Helping people understand why they experience negative thoughts and feelings can enable them to create change more effectively. Using cognitive-behavioral methods to focus both on short-term symptoms and long-term factors underlying their issues and their behaviors people can learn to regain balance & restore control in their lives.

At times we may decide we aren't where we wish to be in life. Life coaching helps identify ways to reach our potential and live according to our values. It's a collaborative journey undertaken by motivated and healthy individuals willing to do what is necessary to live authentically.

People seeking therapy or nutritional coaching have a variety of issues that require different approaches. Each person coming for help deserves individualized attention and the opportunity to understand why they are experiencing problems and how to address these same issues effectively and consistently. I work with each individual to help them understand why they experience negative thoughts and feelings, and teach them appropriate methods to create lasting change.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

Ideally, through the therapeutic process people learn how identify what affects them, and how to change or at least address the issues that trouble them. On a broader scale therapy should result in someone having a better understanding of themselves. A patient should leave knowing more about their wants, their needs, and the personal beliefs that drive them and their behaviors. With the knowledge comes more power to create change effectively and to regain balance and control over one's life.
