How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist
Due to an unfortunate accident, I had urgent surgery and have been living with chronic pain since. I was initially prescribed pain medication and muscle relaxers that made me feel groggy or sleepy. While I was grateful to have awesome medical care and medication available, for me, this decreased my quality of living; especially considering I had a young family to care for and my career was just starting to take off. I thought, "there had to be a better way for me to manage pain and still be able to live life without dependency on medication." During my research I discovered hypnosis. I decided to try it; to my surprise, I got amazing results. Once I realized the consistent results I was able to achieve through continued use, I knew I had to share this with my clients. I found a school and became a certified practitioner. I have been sharing this knowledge since that time with awesome results.
