My Approach to Helping
Adrienne Gorman is a psychotherapist with years of experience, who has worked with clients dealing with chemical dependency, eating disorders and terminal illness. Her current area of focus is working with adults who present with anxiety, depression and issues around relationships and life transitions.
Although trained in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Adrienne also uses more current, evidence-based techniques such as CBT and mindfulness to create an empathic, client-centered alliance that allows the client to feel comfortable in presenting any issues of concern, no matter how seemingly insignificant or embarrassing. The goal is to form a relationship that helps the client to move forward with an increased sense of mastery and a better understanding of the challenges that have held him or her back in the past.
Adrienne has a masters in psychology from the New School and a masters in social work from New York University.
