My Approach to Helping
It is my belief that connection and trust is the key to good therapy. Once a genuine rapport is established, work within a therapeutic setting allows for growth, understanding, compassion and empathy. I believe that clients are a blank slate and the therapy experience allows each individual whether it be a child, teen, or adult to re-discover themselves through a variety of techniques that suits each one's unique style and personality. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" concept but rather a journey allowing each individual to discover their desires, passions and goals through a variety of techniques that works for the individual client.

My View on the Purpose of Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy can assist individuals by helping to bring a different perspective to the problem that brought the client to therapy in the first place. Whether it be an uncontrollable child, disrespectful teenager, arrogant boss or insensitive spouse, individuals need an unbiased professional to help sort through life's chaos. Psychotherapy can broaden an individual's perspective on life by broadening one's tunnel vision to allow for a more open understanding of self and others. Remember, life is not always black or white, there are many different shades of gray.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I love being a therapist and the work that I do together with the client. I see myself as a conduit that gives strength, power and control back to the client. I love when I see movement in a positive direction but understand that taking a few steps back is expected. I have always been interested in people and have a genuine caring disposition that helps move clients to a better place. I never want to retire!!!
Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist
Choosing a therapist is a very important part of the whole therapy process. It is important that both therapist and client "click" in order that good work be achieved. There are many professional therapists to choose from, all stemming from various theoretical perspectives. It is my deepest belief that one needs to be able to connect, feel heard, be respected and trust their "gut" that the professional will help guide their journey thus giving the client an incredible experience.
