My Approach to Helping
Everyone, regardless of age or background, has incredible potential for self-awareness and growth. Sometimes it just takes a little guidance and encouragement to get them there. That is where I come in. I see the strength and ability in others and help them to see it in themselves, so they can cope with challenging situations on their own.
As a licensed clinical social worker and board-approved supervisor, I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach to help individuals recognize their true potential. I collaborate with the client to work as a team toward achieving their goals.
I work with adults struggling with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, substance abuse, and other mental health issues. I have more than 10 years of experience practicing social work in the Austin area. I use crisis intervention strategies, brief solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based therapies, and cognitive behavioral therapy in sessions with clients. Not everyone is the same in the way they cope with situations. I understand this. I cater each session to meet the individual needs of the client.
From the homeless to career professionals, I have a wide range of experience working in a variety of clinical settings with a diverse population of clients. I have spent some time working with survivors of torture from all over the world, many of whom spoke different languages.
You are not alone if you find yourself struggling with life’s challenges. I offer clients a safe and confidential space to focus on their needs and to prioritize their mental health. I want to help you heal so you can live your best life.
