My Approach to Helping
I take a client-centered approach, embracing the diversity and uniqueness in the human experience. I want to make sure each client leaves each session in better condition than when they arrived.
In therapy, I can help those with ADHD, Depression, and anxiety in children, adolescents, and adults. Also, I am skilled in treating:
Severe Mental Illness: This includes borderline personality disorder and Schizophrenia. I have a unique approach to coping and long-term therapy treatment. I am a practicing magician who has found magic tricks have been beneficial in slowing hallucinations and other triggers.
Intellectual and Developmental Disorders: Autism, Learning Disabilities, and more; I provide a therapeutic environment to learn coping mechanisms and to express emotions that may be more difficult. I want to ensure my clients leave feeling more confident with their communication.
Anxiety and Depression in Adolescents: Anxiety and Depression can feel as if you have lost control. I offer therapy for adolescents who are suffering from feelings of worry and hopelessness. I use different therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and talk therapy. I have found, through his experience, that magic can be used as an emotional reset button.
As a therapist who uses different techniques, I have researched and utilize magic in therapy when I find it helpful. I distract the anxious mind or sadness with sleight of hand. Understanding how impactful my unique skill set can be, I also have a physical tick form of Tourette’s Syndrome that I am coping with.
I earned his Master’s of Social Work from Dominican University. In my free time, I am a gamer (board games, card games, and video games), can play an excellent game of chess, and I am a musician.
