My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CADC). I believe that all individuals have the potential and capacity to live a life they find satisfying and fulfilling. I also believe in working collaboratively with clients to navigate and overcome the challenges they experience in their daily lives in order to achieve their dreams. My clinical work is guided by my passion to empower those with whom I work, to treat others with dignity and to provide a nonjudgmental, interpersonally engaging, and therapeutically challenging environment. I utilize a holistic approach that incorporates cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused and motivational enhancement approaches.
I earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I have nearly eight years of clinical experience in Chicago, providing therapy and supportive services to adolescents, adults and elderly individuals across a wide spectrum of ethnic and cultural groups. I also worked with the LGBTQI community through organizations such as PFLAG and Chicago Lakeshore Hospital’s outpatient programs. Additionally, I have worked with individuals with chronic medical issues, developmental disabilities, severe and chronic mental illness and substance use disorders.
