My Approach to Helping
My treatment approach is unconditional positive regard, strengths based, motivational interviewing, and focusing on the whole person. I utilize Mindfulness and Meditation, CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy. I also utilize hands-on activities to alleviate the stress that comes with meeting with a counselor. I believe that through hands-on activities it allows the individual space to hone their creativity and connect with the counselor in a non-invasive manner.
I received my Masters in Counseling from Kean University, as well as my undergraduate degree in Psychology. I have worked with children and adolescents in an outpatient and school setting. I have worked with adults in a psychiatric and outpatient setting. I have worked in the mental health profession for over 8 years.
I enjoy reading, listening to music, spending time with family and friends. I enjoy doing extensive community work with local children and adolescents. Helping guide them through their personal journey and giving them the opportunity to become mentors to younger generations.
