My Approach to Helping
Elizabeth is a native New Yorker who has worked with clients from all walks of life for over two and a half decades. She has expertise in helping people work on issues related to anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, parenting, ADHD and living with chronic health issues.Elizabeth has a psychodynamic background and also draws from a number of different approaches such as CBTDBT, Motivational Interviewing and Family Systems Theory, to work with clients in ways that help them to achieve the real, practical and meaningful life changes that they want for themselves.
Elizabeth sees therapy as a partnership and believes that with support people are able to address challenges that they may find too overwhelming to deal with alone. She has a warm and open style and provides professional, sensitive and personal care to each individual with whom she works.
Elizabeth believes that while addressing issues openly and honestly can be challenging, therapy should be a hopeful and creative process. Her ultimate goal is to let clients know that they can receive the help they need to create the lives that they most want for themselves.
Elizabeth works with both traditional and integrative therapies for depression, anxiety and ADHD. She also works with clients who want to address particular issues in their professional lives that challenge them to grow in personal ways and develop the skills to effectively lead others.
