More Info About My Practice

Read below for special messages to the 16+ year olds, young adults & the highly sensitive young adult or teen:

Are you a highly sensitive teen or young adult?
Do you find yourself experiencing a richness to your emotions that those around you don’t? Can you feel the mood in a room, tuning in to what emotions those around you might be feeling? Are you a highly sensitive person (HSP)? Two out of ten people are highly sensitive. Be listened to without judgement or expectation. It's possible to figure out your best coping skills, strengthen your identity and improve your self-care.

Are you a young adult?
Welcome to the period of metamorphosis. As exciting and eventful as this time of your life can be, it also can bring with it a unique set of challenges. You might be feeling as though you are going through a series of “groundhog days” without clear direction or passion. The monotony of work-from-home or online education can highlight the yarn of thoughts, worries, and stress that might be tangled-up in your head. Being able to process your thoughts and feelings as you figure out this time in your life can also be a chance to explore more about you. It's possible to untangle the yarn and find the thread that leads out of your groundhog maze.

Are you a high school junior or senior?
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you're finding it difficult to manage the seemingly never-ending demands and expectations like: “You need to get into a good school.” “You need to get good grades.” “You need to volunteer and show some leadership outside of school.” “What types of extracurriculars are you involved in?” “Are you doing well in sports?” “What was your SAT ACT score?” “What are you going to major in?” “Have you filled out your FAFSA?” “What about your college essay?” “Are you seeing anyone?” “Why don’t you ever have any time to hang out?” “Why are you spending so much time doing nothing?”

This pressure can build up. It can make you feel like you’re barely able to keep your head above water. Everyone says these are the best years of your life, so why do you feel so stressed out? Maybe there is too much noise of what you “need to” be doing that you can’t hear your own thoughts about what is actually best for you.

Whether you're 16-years or older, a young adult or highly sensitive teen or young adult . . .
Having a soft place to land to explore your heart, mind and spirit is important. Finding a good-fit holistic therapist and counselor to talk to about your problems is a way to have someone in your corner that's focused on you. Feeling heard and respected can help you figure out what you really want and need.

The future can feel like a shadowy blur. In therapy that's tailored to just you, we work together to help you to de-fog your future. It is possible to see what a good and fulfilling life might be like for you. It is possible to feel hope. Most importantly, we can work to make sure you are feeling good today, in the here and now. When you're worried about planning and thinking for the future, sometimes the most helpful thing to do is to just take a minute and exist in the moment. Discover what being present and feeling better about things that you have control over might be like. Discover more about yourself with the helping hand of a counselor.

You can learn more about me, my work, style and credentials at Mind Body Well Therapy’s website. Focusing on your wellness is the greatest gift you can give yourself. You deserve to feel happiness, confidence, belonging, and peace. I hope to support you on this journey.
