My Approach to Helping

Want to stress less, feel connected, and have a better relationship with yourself and others? Are you being affected by the pressure to perform in school? Feeling alone, anxious, or sad? Experiencing lots of change, a difficult transition or just stuck?

Making changes in your life and finding a listening ear to talk through some problems can be scary. It can also be very empowering. Whatever you're going through, you took the steps to land here on GoodTherapy.org to find a someone to work with as you figure out what's going on. This is a solid step on your healing journey. I hope this writing helps you get a better idea of who I am as a holistic therapist and counselor. This way, you can decide if you are interested in working with me. Your path to mental health and wellness is unique and finding a therapist that's a good-fit for you is important.

My approach to therapy is rooted in the belief that you are the expert on your own life, even if you don't think you are. My goal is to provide compassionate, person-centered, and creative therapy that draws on your unique strengths and interests so you can discover you. it's also a place to figure things out. You might want to work on goals, explore what you're thinking, feeling or doing, reduce your stress, feel less pressure or better understand what's going on. You can talk about and explore anything in the safe space that's available here.

I do not hold the key to your healing and wellness, you do. My job is to help you find that key to better health and wellness. Your healing journey towards better mental health wellness is your path to take and I walk besides you on it. Along the way, I provide you with a healing space to talk about everything and anything that comes up.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate here in Connecticut, I serve teenagers (16+ year olds), emerging adults as they move through life’s stressors and transitions. I especially enjoy using expressive techniques in therapy, as sometimes words fall short in describing our feelings or experiences. My passion lies in helping you craft a life you really like and enjoy: one that allows you to feel inspired, fulfilled, and connected. Are you a highly sensitive teen or young adult?
Do you find yourself experiencing a richness to your emotions that those around you don’t? Can you feel the mood in a room, tuning in to what emotions those around you might be feeling? Are you a highly sensitive person (HSP)? Two out of ten people are highly sensitive. Be listened to without judgement or expectation. It's possible to figure out your best coping skills, strengthen your identity and improve your self-care.

Are you a young adult?
Welcome to the period of metamorphosis. As exciting and eventful as this time of your life can be, it also can bring with it a unique set of challenges. You might be feeling as though you are going through a series of “groundhog days” without clear direction or passion. The monotony of work-from-home or online education can highlight the yarn of thoughts, worries, and stress that might be tangled-up in your head. Being able to process your thoughts and feelings as you figure out this time in your life can also be a chance to explore more about you. It's possible to untangle the yarn and find the thread that leads out of your groundhog maze.
