My Approach to Helping

As a counselor, April understands that healing, change, and personal growth can be challenging and wants to help you create a life of self-determined purpose and meaning. She believes that therapy should be a collaborative and empowering experience, and she creates a warm, accepting, and compassionate space in which to connect with those she serves.

More Info About My Practice

April Fincham is a National Certified Counselor. She has a Master of Science Degree in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from West Virginia University.

Since 2007, April has enjoyed working with diverse clients from many facets of life, including individuals, families, and couples. She has helped a variety of individuals dealing with the daily stressors and challenges of life, recovering from various forms of trauma and addiction, and has counseled those who are unhoused and incarcerated to promote mental health and well-being. She is also Certified as a Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) and has worked extensively with both individuals and families helping them to navigate the complexities of life with a physical or cognitive disability. April is passionate about working with and assisting others, and genuinely cares about the field of counseling as well as the people she serves.
