Gender diversity among children and adolescents is often overlooked as a phase. However, most children who present with these identity concerns never grow out of it. This web conference is for clinicians who understand the critical needs of a child in that space.

In this 2-hour continuing education web conference, Anisha Cooper will discuss inclusive language, documentation, and environments for the gender diverse child and their family. Anisha will also discuss how to discern the nuances between gender identities and expressions.

Additionally, Anisha will explain how clinicians may assist in ethical advocacy of the gender diverse child's needs, while acknowledging differences with state laws. Finally, Anisha will provide resources to aid clinicians in co-facilitating family healing.

This introductory instructional level web conference is designed to help clinicians:

  1. Create inclusive clinical documentation for parents and children.

  2. Discuss gender identities including cisgender, transgender, and nonbinary.

  3. Select advocacy techniques with parents.

  4. Compile resources to aid in the therapeutic process.

  5. Utilize clinical interventions to facilitate family healing.
