Announcing a Redesigned and Improved GoodTherapy.org Site!

Woman using laptop on sofaSay hello to GoodTherapy.org’s redesigned website! As of July 3, 2015, GoodTherapy.org has a new look and new features—including some that have been in progress for years. You’ll see some changes that brighten blog articles, make continuing education events easier to search, and optimize the look of member profiles.

And the changes aren’t all aesthetic: GoodTherapy.org is committed to a quality user experience for both therapist members and the general public, and many changes reflect this dedication. Now, people seeking a counselor will be better able to filter search results to look for a therapist who will best fit their needs. And therapist members of GoodTherapy.org will be able to define more terms on their profiles that will help them match with people seeking therapy.

We are as determined as ever to produce and share quality content that will resonate with both mental health professionals and people who are interested in learning more about mental health and therapy. More articles are being written by professionals in the mental health field and published on the Good Therapy Blog, on topics ranging from everyday self-care to depression to relationship issues to bipolar, and many more. In addition, GoodTherapy.org keeps an encyclopedia with mental health terms and definitions, biographical information about leading researchers and voices in mental health history, and resources related to psychotropic medication.

GoodTherapy.org continues to be a trusted destination for mental health professionals—not only for a directory listing, but also for support with private practice and furthering professional education. Continuing education (CE) events cover a diverse array of topics related to mental health issues, the business of running a psychotherapy practice, therapy modes and methods, and more. CE events are offered at no additional cost to GoodTherapy.org members, who also have access to an extensive CE archive with over 300 CE credits. The following organizations have awarded approval to GoodTherapy.org as a continuing education provider:

  • American Psychological Association (APA)
  • Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC)
  • Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB)
  • California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
  • National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC)

We owe a huge thank-you to our programming team, members of which are spread all across the globe, as well as to YOU—our visitors, fans, and friends who make our progress possible! While a website facelift may pale in comparison to the important work we do and the concept of good therapy, we believe all positive changes will help us reach a wider audience and further the mission and vision we have for the fields of mental health and psychotherapy.
