In this presentation, Mitch Smith will discuss basic concepts of sports psychology and how to incorporate this knowledge into clinical practice. Mitch will discuss his own experience as a world-class athlete in the sport of racquetball and how he has used everything he teaches athletes to achieve the number one ranking in the world in his sport. He will speak about how hypnosis is used in sports psychology and examine how hypnosis has been an underutilized tool to enhance performance in athletes. The workshop is appropriate for clinicians who have experience in sports psychology and hypnosis and also for those who have no experience in these fields.

Mitch Smith, LCSW-C, received his master’s degree in social work from Temple University. He is an expert in the clinical use of hypnosis and is board-certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Board of Hypnosis—the highest credentialing a licensed professional can achieve. Mitch is an approved consultant and has certification in clinical hypnosis from the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Mr. Smith has 29 years experience in the mental health field.
