My Approach to Helping
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It's about learning how to dance in the rain" - says Vivian Greene. However you might ask, how do I keep my spirit and courage after having survived one or perhaps many tornados or tsunamis? Perhaps you are in the middle of an external or internal storm right now. I believe we all have an inherent capacity to recover and heal from the deepest suffering, and reclaim joy and fun in life. The part of you that is seeking options to get help knows this. I'd like to provide a safe place for you and welcome all your emotions, behaviors and aspects of your personality with acceptance, compassion and curiosity. They carried you through many storms since your early existence. Together we will give time and caring attention to these feelings, thoughts, urges and past experiences that are often judged or ignored in everyday life. I believe that even the most negative and undesirable behaviors, feelings and thoughts are rooted in good intentions of self-protection and survival. Through gaining clarity and learning skills it is possible to bring forth your deepest essence of confident and joyful self.
More Info About My Practice
Currently I am mainly practicing IFS (Internal Family Systems), integrating it with both practical and creative approaches as they make sense within the healing process. Among many different approaches I use, I find that this therapy approach brings much respect, clarity and effectiveness to the healing process. I help individuals, couples, families, and groups.
My black lab mix dog, Nisha, often accompanies me to the office to provide her supportive and mellow presence during sessions.

Zsuzsi is a warm, compassionate, highly skilled and deeply gifted therapist. Through our Internal Family Systems work together, I have been inspired by her heart, unique ability to listen and be fully present as she provides therapy. She individualizes her sessions using DBT, IFS, CBT, psychodrama and psychodynamic techniques in order to meet each client's needs. I refer more people to Zsuzsi than any other therapist. There is no one I would more highly recommend or trust. January 20, 2011

My Therapy Focus
Interest
I specialize in improving relationships, effective communication skills and healing the impacts of trauma, abuse and other difficult life experiences.
My interest includes managing anxiety, stress, depression, grief, borderline personality, self-esteem issues and life transitions.
I am an advocate of enhancing treatment through body/mind, creative and drama therapy approaches. Integrating such approaches allows for a well rounded understanding and appreciation of all of our aspects and potentials as humans. In addition, play and creativity allows for greater insight, accelerated healing and personal growth while having fun.
I also firmly believe in the power of groups in healing. Groups offer a special opportunity for connecting and self-reflection, allowing participants to find community and learn from each other in ways that may not occur in individual treatment.
