My Approach to Helping
Your issues are not appreciated, understood, or supported by family or friends, and the feeling of isolation is overwhelming. You need someone to listen, to pay attention and help you with those things that are hurting you and holding you back. I work together with you to create realistic goals and a safe place from which to make the needed changes in your life. By using both behavioral psychoeducation and a Humanistic approach, I help you address your immediate issues while you gain a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself as a person. BY working together, change is possible!

More Info About My Practice
I work specifically with sexuality (intimacy, GLBT, addictions/fetishes), men's issues (anger, development, identity), and career/life transitions (resumes/interview skills , identity loss/change, life events). I also specialize in stress, as addressing it early avoids it becoming overwhelming. Learn to work through stress instead of simply ignoring it!

My fees range from $50-$80 on a sliding scale.

I accept cash, checks, and credit cards.

My Therapy Focus

As I believe that the body, soul, heart, mind, and envoronment all contribute to your well-being, making sure that they are in harmony is a major focus. Just as important is that I include you, the client, in every step of the process of your own personal and spiritual growth, and that we establish a close working relationship where you feel safe to really bring yourself out and explore those areas that are hidden away.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Always go at your own pace, for therapy truly is more about the journey than the goal. It is understandable that we want the pain, the anger, the guilt or shame to go away now, but to be true to ourselves, we must give those things recognition to the impact they have had or continue to have in our lives before we begin to accept and improve who we are. As your counselor, I offer encouragement and companionship as we both discover your inner potential.

What Makes up a Problem?

I honestly believe that our biology can make us more inclined to certain ways of thinking, feeling, etc., just as our physical bodies may enhance what we are capable of doing. However, with hard work and by accepting ourselves, we may be able to adapt to, overcome, and go beyond any predispositions we may have been born with.
