More Info About My Practice
As an out of network provider for most PPO insurance plans, our office will file your insurance claims for you. Most PPO plans will reimburse you for some portion of the cost of your services, and many will reimburse our office directly so that you are only responsible for a co-pay. I can also provide you a receipt for your employee pre-tax flex benefit plan and you can use your HSA debit cards for payment. For more information on how to speak to your insurance company about your out of network benefits, feel free to email me and I am happy to send you this guide.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

The length of time that I work with a couple or individual depends on a couple of factors, for example: the complexity of the situation, how long has the issue(s) been a source of concern, how often can we meet for sessions, are you open to reading suggested books in between sessions, is your partner or spouse motivated to work on your relationship with you. The greater the level of distress of an individual or couple at the beginning of counseling, the more often I will suggest that we meet (generally every week or 2 weeks). I regularly “check in” with individuals or couples to inquire about their perspective on the progress that they are making in our work together. We will collaboratively decide how to adjust the frequency of sessions as clients are moving toward their goals for counseling, as well as making a decision together about terminating our work together. I generally work with individuals and couples for 12-24 sessions. When a couple has made enough progress that we are no longer meeting on a regular basis, we will generally meet once every couple of months to decrease the likelihood of relapse.
