My Approach to Helping
Virgil Roberson has been in private practice as a psychoanalyst for over 19 years in New York City. In his practice, he works with individuals, couples and groups. Virgil works with patients to uncover the unconscious patterns which can inhibit the changes they wish to make in their lives as well as offering a safe and caring environment to work through the difficult emotions which allows for a freedom of choice to be created. He works with adults and specializes in anxiety, addiction, depression, and relationship struggles. Virgil has a specialty in "attachment parenting" working with those raising adopted and foster children.

Virgil Roberson trained in psychoanalysis at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis (NPAP) in New York. He is a Licensed Psychoanalyst (L.P.) as well as a Nationally Certified Psychoanalyst (NCPsyA) with the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis (NAAP). Virgil received his Master of Divinity in Psychiatry and Religion from Union Theological Seminary along with a Master of Arts from Pennsylvania State University. He has served in the ministry and as a Chaplain after many years working as a professional actor and producer of avant-garde plays and chamber operas.
