My Approach to Helping
I have wanted to help others from a counseling perspective since I was 11 years old listening to Dr. Ruth on Sunday late night radio in New York. However, I thought I would explore different avenues and techniques with families and couples than Dr. Ruth seems to focus on (God love her!). I believe that people are born good. I believe we learn from our surroundings from the time we are little babes and then our learning is filtered and enhanced by our gentic competencies and deficiencies, thus creating each snowflake-like unique individual that we become. As a psychotherapist, as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my charge is to connect with individuals; find out what their desires are; instill hope; impart tools of the trade; and help that individual become a better person through a conscious, deliberate, and sometimes tumultuous change process. I love helping those who want to help themselves and who have a passion for more for their lives than the status quo. The point of life is not the circumstances we find ourselves in, however, it is who we become throughout the journey!

Groups I Work With
I love working with families, particularly those with children and adolescents! I have spent the last ten years working with both adolescent males and females and their families. I must say, as tough as adolescents in particular can be, they are equally as rewarding. I also enjoy working with couples who are struggling. When working with individuals on a vast array of mental health issues, some of my favorite areas of work are with anxiety and stress management, grief and loss issues which result from many different types of losses, and finally I love working with individuals who are struggling with or need some support with any type of life transitions.
