 Christina Fiddes , LCSW

Christina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children, adolescents and families for 16 years. Christina completed her undergraduate studies in 1999 and returned to school at the University of Georgia to receive her Masters of Social Work in 2010. She intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy with Charlie Swenson and Shireen Rizvi of Behavioral Tech, run by the creator of DBT, Marsha Linehan. Recently she also completed Advanced Case Based DBT Training© in 2014. She provides DBT in the group, individual and family setting and has led adolescent and multi-family skills group for 6 years. Christina is also the first certified Theraplay® Therapist in the state of Georgia and has been practicing Theraplay® in groups, individual and family therapy for three years. She enjoys working with preteens, adolescents and young adults who struggle with depression, anxiety, PTSD, self-injurious behaviors, interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation, self-esteem and family conflict.

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working with children, adolescents and families for 7 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology and her Masters of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 2008. She participated in Core Clinical training© and Case-Based clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy© with Shari Manning of Treatment Implementation Collaborative and formerly with Behavioral Tech, run by the creator of DBT, Marsha Linehan. Recently she also completed Advanced Case Based DBT Training© in 2014. Katie provides DBT in the group, individual and family setting and has led adolescent skills groups for 5 years. Katie is also a Level One Theraplay® practitioner and has been practicing Theraplay® in groups, individual and family therapy for three years. Katie enjoys working with pre-teens, adolescents and young adults struggling with depression, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors, PTSD and interpersonal difficulties.

She has been trained in Level One and Two of Theraplay® and Group Theraplay®, as well. She has been practicing Theraplay® in groups, individual and family therapy for 4 years. Elizabeth enjoys working with children, pre-teens, and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, self-injurious behaviors, PTSD and interpersonal difficulties.

Kimberly is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with children, adolescents, and families for 11 years. She received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education at Edinboro University in PA, Masters of Arts in Professional Counseling at Argosy University, and her Doctorate Degree in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University. She received Core Clinical training© and Case-Based clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy© with Shari Manning of Treatment Implementation Collaborative and formerly with Behavioral Tech. Additionally, she completed Advanced Case Based DBT Training© in 2014. She provides DBT in the group, individual, and family settings, in addition to leading adolescent and family skills groups. Kimberly also facilitates DBT groups for parents and guardians. She has been trained in Level One and Two of Theraplay® and Group Theraplay®, and practices Theraplay® in group, individual, and family therapy. Kimberly enjoys working with children, pre-teens, and adolescents who struggle with interpersonal relationships, emotion regulation, and self-esteem. She assists these youth in learning coping strategies to effectively manage intense emotions as they build a “Life Worth Living.”

Hillside, Inc. is CARF accredited and licensed under Georgia's Department of Community Health as Residential Mental Health Facility, license number 060-411. Hillside DBT is the outpatient clinic in Hillside, Inc.'s continuum of care. All of our clinicians are licensed social workers or professional counselors in the state of Georgia.

About Our Center

Hillside outpatient DBT clinic offers individual and family DBT therapy as well as DBT skills group for children, adolescents, young adults and parents. Our treatment is specialized for clients who have issues with adapting to change, experience extreme/intense emotions, struggle with impulsive behavior and mood regulation, and have difficulties with interpersonal relationships. In DBT, clients will learn to decrease undesirable target behaviors and increase healthy coping skills. We cover 5 modules in our DBT skills training: Core Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness, and Walking the Middle Path (skills for families to end the power struggle.)

Theraplay® is an experiential based therapy particularly appropriate for children and families who have difficulties feeling connected and feel out of sync in their interactions. Theraplay® enhances client's sense of self, provide opportunities for shared joy with others, improve affective and emotion regulations, and increase attunement with others.
