My Approach to Helping

I am passionate about working with clients in helping them find ways to improve their well-being and to promote meaningful relationships with those who are important to them. I find that our first session is most essential in establishing a solid client-therapist relationship which is why I like to learn a great deal about your background. While I gather family of origin information, my goal is not to stay in the past but to gain a better perspective of how you like to solve problems and to learn about your values and beliefs. I think it is really important that you feel respected and valued as a person. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can speak and think freely.

More Info About My Practice

My fee is $125 for a 50-minute session. Insurance is not accepted, but I can provide you with the paperwork needed to submit a claim. I highly recommend that you contact your insurance company to find out about your benefits before setting an appointment.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

As a mom of two daughters, ages 17 and 21, I have found that I get a great satisfaction in working with teenage girls. They are at a great age where they can begin developing their own ideas of the world and make decisions that will influence their future. I like being able to help empower these young ladies and guide them as they navigate a world between being a child and a full-fledged adult.

I also enjoy working with individuals and couples in helping them feel more connected and satisfied in their lives. Life certainly has its ups and downs and sometimes seeking professional support is helpful in getting back on track. The issue might be in the form of a life changing event such as a separation or divorce or it can be a longstanding struggle with challenges like depression and anxiety. Either way, counseling can help you decide what kind of life you want to lead and how you will meet those challenges that have been presented.
