My Approach to Helping

We are a practice of people committed to making a difference in the lives of those we serve. We believe the fit between an individual and the therapist is critical to the success of therapy. We practice from the belief that our own life struggles have shaped who we are in important ways. It is our goal to use our unique journeys to help you on your the name Life Journey. Each person faces challenges in life. The goal is to figure out how to cope effectively and live fully. We hope to help you come to understand how your past has shaped who you are without allowing it to restrict who you can be. Please see the practice website listed under the left column to learn about each of us to decide who is your best fit. Life Journey is excited to play a part in your story and to help you create the life you should have.

What I Usually Need to Know to Help

Is that you want to change something in your life.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Going to therapy provides hope, guidance and direction. All the important ingredients to success. We all lose our way...going to therapy means you are taking steps to get back on course....there is nothing weak about doing what it takes to create the changes you want in your life.

My View on the Nature of 'Disorders'

All human behavior falls on a continuum. We each are some place on the continuum, which is why we can so easily see ourselves in the descriptions of many disorders. We all share these human tendencies. We need help coping when some of our tendencies get too extreme; either too much or too little. There is nothing wrong at the core as we all share these tendencies, we simply need to make some adjustments to restore balance.
