I'm a licensed professional.
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Life can be a hard journey and we could all use a little help navigating the terrain. While life, its relationships, jobs, transitions, roles, etc, CAN be difficult, a dynamic counseling experience and relationship can help you discover a more abundant life. I believe that growth and healing have to be holistic and, therefore, therapy has to be an exploration of your entire story, past and present, as well as an intentional focus on achieving a mind, body and spirit balance. Who YOU are governs the direction and details of YOUR therapeutic process. As a result, an array of principles and techniques of mindfulness practices, object-relations theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, family systems theory, and reality therapy practices may be integrated to help you reach your goals.

My Guiding Ethical Principles
My guiding personal and practice principles are one in the same: Faith. Hope. Love.
FAITH: I'm motivated by God's truth and the potential of His creation. I believe psychology is a nod to theology and that our problems and pain are an indicator and an inroad to the eternal (and mysterious) purposes of God. To that end, prayer, Scripture and Christian community can be powerful tools in any transformative and healing process. While I do not counsel Christians exclusively, I will gladly incorporate biblical truths if the client is amenable.
HOPE: Counseling is a process and requires a commitment from both the client and the therapist. The first step is often the hardest, but the journey can be revolutionary and freeing. I truly believe that clients can find courage, confront fears and work through seemingly impossible obstacles. One day at a time, one session at a time, progress is possible ... and abundant life is worth the work.
LOVE: You can expect authenticity, acceptance and compassion when you come to counseling. I believe that a trusting counselor-client relationship is a helpful catalyst for change. I also believe that healthy relationships, in general, are foundational to emotional and spiritual healing and growth. As a result, work in therapy often involves focus on past and current relationships and their dynamic and impact in your life.
