What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

As a child I had a gift of listening to people's problems. Adults would find themselves telling me things I probably should not have heard at that age but I listened and at times gave, for them, surprisingly solid advice. Counseling comes naturally to me. I get a natural high when I witness someone uncovering something new about himself or herself, or when they have learned to love themselves a little more. I am passionate about being a therapist because I saw a handful of family members struggle emotionally. These individuals rarely sought help from other family members or mental health professionals. I was sad and I wished I could have done more and now that I recognize myself as the caregiver in my family, I have developed healthy boundaries for myself and have reached out to help them. As a Licensed Professional Therapist, I can do more to help my family and others who desire to heal emotional wounds by using evidenced based therapy that supports and provides resolutions to life's challenges and insights. I am dedicated to helping people change behavior and transform their lives!
