Successful therapy is really about a good relationship between you and your therapist that includes respect, understanding, safety, honesty and fondness. I do my absolute best to build connected, human relationships where people feel seen, heard, liked and understood. Therapy should be a collaborative process that helps you show up in your life in more authentic and functional ways. I work with you to create a supportive and challenging environment to help you explore your feelings and clean up patterns of thinking and behaving that get in the way of you being happier and more fulfilled in your life and relationships.

More Info About My Practice

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I have significant experience working with men on various needs, including gay and gender issues. I think that men often get a raw deal in our society and this frequently results in them having to bury their feelings and true selves. My work focuses on compassionate listening and validating the issues that men face while helping them gain more access to their needs and feelings.
I also specialize in work with teens, especially those who are struggling with self harming behaviors. As an individual who has worked intensely with teens for almost 4 years and also struggled with self harm during adolescence myself, I believe I bring a strong understanding of the "vortex of despair" that often keeps those behaviors in place. I work hard to help teens gain insight and coping skills to free themselves from their despair and find ways to thrive.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

The client-therapist relationship is important because connection is what helps people heal and grow. Ultimately, I think people need to know that they are not alone. People can expect me to be myself in therapy. I am not a therapist robot, I'm just a human! I bring candor, a witty sense of humor and a bubbly disposition to my relationships. I am caring and loyal but not afraid to fight for people where they are struggling to fight for themselves. I show up at a session ready to connect, listen, learn and help and I am gentle but tenacious! I feel strongly that where there is a will there is a way, and feel honored to move alongside people in their process of growth.
