Our experience of life is meant to be so much more than just survival. With support and validation, we can work through emotional injuries from the past so that we are no longer retreating from our present. Feelings of shame and worthlessness, addictive behaviors, attempting to control others and/or avoidance of relationships are all symptoms of unresolved emotional injury. I believe that we all have a self that is wise, kind, fun, and connected and the job of the therapist is to help you develop a strong relationship with that best self.
