Tania Punjabi Suarez, MSEd, LPC, LMHC, NCC has experience in a variety of mental health issues and places priority on helping you get unstuck and moving toward a satisfying life. She meets you where you are emotionally, to understand what you've been going through, and acts as a catalyst for change. You are a unique individual and she uses a customized treatment plan to help you achieve your goals.

Tania Punjabi Suarez believes everyone is capable of growth and change - if the right variables are present. A safe and secure environment, a collaborative and compassionate approach in therapy, and a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for it all.

She takes a warm, supportive, and sometimes challenging approach to engage you in a collaborative process of personal exploration, problem-solving, and change. Healing will come from a commitment to work through this process of examining feelings, thoughts and behaviors related to past and present circumstances; so you can get insight into the root of the issue. Through this healing process of gaining insight and integrating feedback, you will have made space for the development of new and more positive feelings, thoughts and behaviors. You will be empowered as you break free from old patterns of behavior to create new ones that support satisfying and rich relationships and rewarding professional accomplishments. Overall, leading you to a more fulfilling and balanced life.

You will be empowered to better cope with your stress and times of transition. Tania Punjabi Suarez can facilitate the exploration of both mind and body to achieve holistic health. She puts you first and values your ethics and ideals. Making healthy decisions from moment to moment is important during times of stress and transition. She can teach you ways to be more mindful to take advantage of those moments.

More Info About My Practice

In addition to working with the above mentioned issues, I specialize in maternal mental health issues like infertility or postpartum depression, with individuals touched by cancer, and with new parents navigating their new roles as mother and father. I use a combination of relaxation exercises, mindfulness, and cognitive therapies to help reduce anxiety, depression, and stress.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

While going to therapy is becoming more mainstream, there is still stigma around mental health and what going to therapy means. People often interpret being in therapy as being flawed or broken, but in fact, it's the opposite. It takes a lot of courage to reach out for help, and in some ways, you are even trailblazing because you've become savvy to the notion that life is tough and having some support can help! One way to look at it is that everyone has problems, in one way or another. Some are big, and some are small, but everyone goes through rough patches at times. Being in the midst of a difficult time can make it hard to see clearly, make the right choices, and cope with difficult emotions and relationships. A therapist can be your guide to help you navigate through these challenges in an unbiased, non-judgemental and safe way. And there's nothing wrong or weak about taking advantage of that! By going to therapy, you will learn the skills needed to cope with stressful times so you can feel more in control and empowered to find the right solutions.
