I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have 14 years of experience working with adolescents, young adults and adults. I am a humanistic therapist and believe that therapy is beneficial for all people, not just those who have psychological issues and/or mental illness. A key concept of humanistic therapy is that people are basically good and take personal responsibility for self-growth and fulfillment. I practice total acceptance and a non-judgmental approach. It's my hope that this fosters a safe, secure and supportive environment and it gives you the freedom to express how you really feel.

More Info About My Practice

My specialties include: LGBTQ, Transgender, substance abuse, trauma and mood disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.

One of my favorite therapy quotes is: "I am a lighthouse, rather than a lifeboat. I do not rescue, but instead help others to find their way to shore". If you are searching for the way to the shore, I believe I can help.

My Role as a Therapist

My role as a therapist is, as stated above, to help you find your way to shore. My role is not to give advice or tell you what to do to "fix" yourself. You're not broken! I am there to help you identify and explore options, to provide a different perspective or "new set of eyes", and to encourage and support you as you consider positive changes in your life. I will foster learning from decisions and celebrate with you.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Andre Agassi said, "There are many ways of getting strong, sometimes talking is the best way." I agree completely with this statement. Asking for and receiving help are signs of strength - and recognition that you can make changes and find more life satisfaction. Everyone needs help at some point or another during their life's journeys - therapy is one way to explore your strengths and potential.
