My Approach to Helping

We can all benefit from the help and understanding of an empathic, thoughtful, understanding and listening other from time to time. With my non-judgmental and thoughtful approach, along with a safe environment for honest self-reflection, you can begin to accept the parts of your life that have brought you to this particular point in time. Together we will work to further your understanding and acceptance, increase your emotional well-being and personal growth, and help you make the best choices for the futures of you and your loved ones.

More Info About My Practice

I am a psychologist and psychoanalyst with over 20 years of experience in both private practice and psychotherapy clinic settings. I work with adults and adolescents in individual psychotherapy and psychoanalysis as well as providing consultation for parents of young children and adolescents. My current fee is $185 for each 50 minute session. While I am not currently taking new patients who wish to use insurance to pay for treatment I provide monthly billing statements that can be used for insurance reimbursement.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

The most important factor in choosing a therapist is the feeling of emotional connection or "fit" that you have with that person. If you feel that a therapist is truly interested in getting to know you, is emotionally engaged, warm, kind, thoughtful and intelligent, you've got a keeper.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

Many people believe that receiving psychotherapy means you are weak, flawed, can't handle life on your own or are even "crazy". That is absolutely not true. We are all social beings who need others to survive both physically and psychologically. Just like going to the gym regularly can help you maintain and increase your physical health, going to a therapist can help you to achieve emotional growth and psychological well-being. I would be happy to meet with you to see if I can be of help to you in achieving your goals for psychological and emotional health.
