Seeking an ACTIVE counselor, one who will provide feedback, guidance and concrete tools to help you improve your life and relationships? Do you find an interactive, collaborative therapist to be most helpful in promoting change? I employ a uniquely interactive and positive, future-oriented approach which many clients have told me is refreshing. I have been in practice for 30+ years and have much wisdom and insight to share, as well as a well-appointed tool box. I am both a licensed counselor and a certified life coach. I help folks who feel 'stuck' in feelings, situations and relationships. My focus is always on active change and solutions.

I do not accept insurance.

I specialize in relationship concerns, both with the individual and the couple. With individual relationship work, we can address problems such as making decisions, grieving losses, learning healthy patterns, gaining self-esteem and building a sense of empowerment.

With couples work, my specialty, we work on getting to the bottom of what is really going on. We tackle the root causes of resentment and conflict. We address healing and trust issues, recovering from infidelity in all its' forms, and learning powerful relationship skills to use ongoingly. Re-create connection and positive feelings.

My goal is always to have clients, whether individuals or couples, leave feeling not only listened to and supported but much better equipped to deal with their problems. I am results-driven.

People don't realize that nodding and listening is not enough in therapy for most folks! You must get active, engaged help.

More Info About My Practice

Please note that I have chosen to no longer accept health insurance but will provide an invoice to submit to your company for reimbursement (this only works with PPO plans). Prices range from $80 - $175. Go to my website as listed on this page for more specific financial info.

My focus is always on YOU and not administrative work or communicating with insurance companies to get authorization to work with you. There are confidentiality risks associated with using health insurance for mental health.

Plus, importantly, I strongly limit the number of clients I see per day for maximum effectiveness and attention.

I invite you to experience what it is like to work with a highly experienced, non-network provider for confidential, diagnosis-free counseling. Please come in and experience the difference.

If you send me an email through the contact form system on this site, it might take a few hours to get to me. The fastest way to reach me is by calling.

What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist

I love witnessing both individuals and couples make significant changes in themselves and in their lives and relationships. I appreciate people walking out of my office feeling better after the session ... understanding themselves and others ... feeling less depressed or anxious ... feeling more empowered. I have experienced my clients' ability and power to change and I am in awe of it. I have helped untold numbers of people in my 30+ years of experience and believe in the effectiveness of what I have to offer.

Important Factors for Choosing a Therapist

There are many factors which can help you decide whether a therapist that is right for you. Some questions to ask yourself: Do I need/want total confidentiality in the therapy? Then using insurance is not always best. Do I want an older, more seasoned therapist or someone within a few years of my age? Can I afford the gift of working with a non-network therapist and is this an important enough venture to pay for the help? Did I leave the first session feeling a connection, not judged, and better than when I walked in? Just as with any relationship, you might feel better with some counselors than with others and let your gut be your guide.
