It is my belief that at some point in everyone's life they will need to see a therapist so I try to make the process as normal as possible. I also believe that the relationship between the client and their therapist is extremely important to the therapeutic process. For this reason I try to find out where the person is emotionally and where they would like to be. It is my job to accept them where they are and help them discover the stepping stones to build a better path for their life. It is not my job to be judgmental or to tell the client what to do but to assist them toward their goals.
