Through my collaborative and easygoing style I strive to provide a relaxed and comfortable environment where I will help you identify and explore problem areas, look at origins of deep-rooted patterns, and find manageable, sustainable coping strategies in order to deal with life's daily challenges. I enjoy exploring the mysteries of the human condition and welcome the opportunity to help you confront joys and pains, feel understood, and find what makes you feel safe, strong, and content.

I have a strong background in helping adults and teens successfully work through life-stage transitions, career/school difficulties, interpersonal conflict, family of origin issues, relationship issues, and struggles related to depression and anxiety, to name a few. My therapeutic style integrates psychoanalytic, cognitive, and mindfulness oriented methods.

Prior to becoming a psychotherapist I had a 20-year career in the film and television world and thus have a passion for working with creative minds, in addition to understanding the pressures of a competitive, fast-paced workplace and an erratic work schedule.

More Info About My Practice

Fees: When thinking about the cost of psychotherapy please consider that therapy is a serious investment in yourself - your relationships, career, and sense of well-being. That said, I believe that therapy should not be cost-prohibitive and thus offer a sliding-scale based on financial circumstance and agreed upon session frequency. We will discuss and agree upon a fee that is fair to both of us before our first session. All fees are due at the time of session unless alternative arrangements are made. I accept cash, personal check, Venmo, or credit card.

Insurance: I am an in-network provider with Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield only. I qualify as an out-of-network provider with most other insurance companies. What this means is that if you qualify for out-of-network benefits with your inusrance company, you will pay me directly, I will supply you with a monthly bill with the necessary information, and you will submit my bill to your insurance company for direct reimbursement. If you are not sure whether or not your insurance provides out-of-network benefits, call them and ask the following:

-Do I have mental health benefits included in my plan? If the answer is yes, ask...
-Do I have out-of-network benefits? If the answer is yes, ask...
-Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it?
-Do I have a co-pay? If so, how much is it?
-How many mental health sessions per year will my benefit cover?
-What is my rate of reimbursement?
-How do I obtain reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network provider?
-Is approval required from my primary care physician in order to obtain benefits?
